PLATINUM / PALLADIUM PRINTING IN THE 21ST CENTURY WITH SCOTT B. DAVIS
April 22-23, 2017
$395, materials included
In this two-day workshop students will learn the time honored technique of platinum/palladium printing. Developed in 1873, this hands on printmaking process is known for creating exquisite images in the world's most permanent photographic process. Platinum printing merges well with both digital capture and scanned negatives, and best of all requires no special darkroom setup.
Limited to 4 students, participants in the workshop will get a thorough review of making digital negatives and explore the depth and character of making fine platinum prints. Each student will leave with a thorough understanding of the process, including resources on developing a platinum workspace, setting up a home darkroom, and finished prints from individual negatives.
Registration includes all material costs (platinum and palladium, paper, chemistry and digital negative), instructional handouts, and lunch for participants. In the event of student cancellations made before April 1, 2017 a full refund (minus a $50 materials fee) will be given. Refunds can not be guaranteed for any cancellations made after this date, unless we are able to fill the space from the waiting list.
