What do I get with the Eye to Eye Portfolio Review pass?
Our Eye to Eye Portfolio Review pass offers access to the two-day portfolio review event. You will receive a minimum of 8 portfolio review sessions with our 2017 Reviewers and participation in the Open Portfolio Walk on Oct. 26 from 7-10pm. Portfolio Review attendees can upgrade to a Big Pass at any time.
What do I get with the Big Pass?
The Big Pass give you access to all festival events, including the Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews. As a Big Pass holder you will receive a minimum of 8 portfolio review sessions with our 2017 Reviewers, participation in the Open Portfolio Walk on Oct. 26 from 7-10pm, admission to our VIP reception with the 2017 Keynote Speaker, and admission to all festival lectures and events throughout the weekend. The Big Pass also offers discounts at our FLASH! Pop-Up Shop, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cocktails at our VIP reception, and much more. It is an exceptional opportunity for all festival attendees interested in attending the portfolio reviews.
What is your refund policy for Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews?
We offer refunds for the Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews until July 1, 2017, minus a $100 administrative fee. We do not offer portfolio review refunds after July 1 unless we are able to fill your place.
Can I bring a portfolio to Medium if I am not registered for the Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews or a Big Pass?
We do not allow solicited viewing of portfolios from photographers not registered in the Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews. We’re proud to offer an open and inviting environment where curators, gallery owners, editors, and other industry professionals engage in an open exchange of ideas. However, we consider these kinds of solicitations to be unethical and dishonest, and are unapologetic in asking unregistered photographers found sharing a portfolio to respectfully stop, or leave the festival. We don’t like being cops, but it’s uncool and disrespectful to cheat the system through our generosity and open spirited event.
Can I register for the Keynote Lecture or a Festival Pass onsite?
Yes! We offer on site Festival Passes and tickets for the Keynote Lecture beginning Friday, Oct. 27.
Are there free festival events?
We offer many free events during the Medium Festival of Photography. Check our 2017 festival line up closer to the festival dates for events marked (free) to learn more about specific event details. We will continue to update this list until just before the festival gets underway.
Do I qualify for a student pass?
We offer festival passes for students who are registered full-time in a degree granting program. We are not able to offer student passes to part time students, workshop participants, or photographers taking private classes through a non-degree granting program. We require proof of student status by presenting your College photo ID when you arrive at the festival. If you cannot provide a valid ID at the registration desk we require the balance of a standard festival pass in order to complete your registration. If you are unsure whether you qualify as a student please send us an email before you register.
What is your return policy for festival passes?
We issue refunds for any festival pass minus a 25% cancellation fee before Oct. 13, 2017. We cannot issue refunds after Oct. 13. Please note our Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews have a separate cancellation policy, outlined above.
Can I transfer my pass to another photographer?
Passes are non-transferrable for other individuals to attend the festival in your absence. If you would like to re-register a pass holder’s name prior to the festival start date please email us to make arrangements.
I’ve purchased my tickets online, what’s next?
You should have received a confirmation email immediately upon completing payment for a festival pass. This email explains that your name will be on our registered guest list, and will give the day and time that festival badges are available for pickup. Once you’ve paid online all you need to do is show up at the festival and we will have all materials needed to attend. We do send a reminder email to all registered guests prior to the event start date.
Where is my confirmation email?
We send confirmation emails for every successful event registration. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder to see if it landed there by mistake. If you didn’t receive a confirmation, contact us at email@example.com and we’ll work to get it straightened out.
Your website says “Registration for this event has closed”, can I still attend?
Once the deadline has passed for online registration ends on Sunday Oct. 15 we will begin offering passes at the Lafayette Hotel beginning Friday, Oct. 27.
