Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25, 2018 9am – 3pm
Join Medium for our annual platinum/palladium workshop with founder and Executive Director scott b. davis. In this two-day workshop students will learn the time honored technique of platinum/palladium printing. Developed in 1873, this hands on printmaking process is known for creating exquisite images in the world’s most permanent photographic process. Platinum printing merges well with both digital capture and scanned negatives, and best of all requires no special darkroom setup.
Participants will get a thorough review of making digital negatives and explore the depth and character of the platinum print. Each student will leave with a thorough understanding of the process, including resources on developing a platinum workspace, setting up a home darkroom, purchasing materials required for platinum printing as well as leaving with finished prints from personal negatives.
Registration includes all material costs (platinum and palladium, paper, chemistry and digital negative), instructional handouts, and more.
