Eye to Eye portfolio reviews offer an opportunity for photographers to receive exposure and feedback about their work from influential gallery directors, curators, and industry professionals. They represent an excellent opportunity to begin new relationships in the field, to develop important peer networks, and help gain valuable exposure for your work.
Registration for the 2015 Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews held over two days: April 23-24, 2015. The 2015 portfolio reviews are limited to 60 photographers and is offered on a first come, first served basis. Once confirmed you will receive an invoice for the full cost of the portfolio reviews ($425) which must be paid within 48 hours of receipt. Unpaid spaces will be given to the next available photographer on the waiting list.
Participants in the portfolio reviews receive a minimum of eight 20-minute reviews with individual reviewers on Oct. 22-23, 2015. These sessions offer photographers an opportunity to meet one on one with curators, photo editors, commercial reps, and galleries to share your work and begin new relationships. Photographers are advised to bring a selection of approximately 20 prints representing a tightly edited body of work. Participants in the Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews gain valuable exposure to industry leaders, and often result in individual photographs being collected, exhibited or published. Individual appointments will be scheduled for each photographer once the review spaces have filled and registration has closed.
On the evening of Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7pm we will host an open portfolio walk as part of the 2015 festival. This event allows participating portfolio review photographers to share their work with the public as well as other reviewers who you may not meet with during the daily sessions. The evening marks a chance to share work with a wide audience, meet collectors, see portfolios from other photographers participating in the Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews, and take part in a dynamic, community event in San Diego.
A list of confirmed reviewers for 2015 will be available in Spring 2015. We have more than 20 participating reviewers from museums, galleries, and publishers from across the United States.
