The Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews take place in San Diego on Oct. 22-23, 2015, offering an opportunity for photographers to receive exposure and feedback about their work from influential gallery directors, curators, and industry professionals. The reviews represent an excellent opportunity to begin new relationships in the field, to develop important peer networks, and help gain valuable exposure for your work. Participants in the portfolio reviews are invited to attend our 2015 Keynote Lecture as part of their registration.
Registration for the 2015 Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews was open on April 23-24, 2015. We will have a limited number of additional spaces available in Spring 2015. If you would like to have your name added to our list of participating photographers please email Anna-Leigh Zinza to have your name included for the portfolio reviews. The 2015 portfolio reviews are limited to 60 photographers and are offered on a first come, first served basis. Reviewer selections will be sent to participating photographers in summer 2015. There are two types of portfolio review passes available: the Eye to Eye Portfolio Review pass for $425 or the Big Pass for $550. Payment for either pass is due at the time of registration using our PayPal system. You do not need a PayPal account to register (they also accept credit cards and debit cards). Refunds for portfolio review registration (including the Big Pass) are available until August 22, 2015, minus a $100 administrative fee. We do not offer refunds after August 22 unless we can fill your place with another photographer on the wait list.
Participants in the portfolio reviews receive a minimum of eight 20-minute reviews with individual reviewers on Oct. 22-23, 2015. These sessions offer photographers an opportunity to meet one on one with curators, photo editors, commercial reps, and galleries to share your work and begin new relationships. Photographers are advised to bring a selection of approximately 20 prints representing a tightly edited body of work. Participants in the Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews gain valuable exposure to industry leaders, and often result in individual photographs being collected, exhibited or published. Individual appointments will be scheduled for each photographer once the review spaces have filled and registration has closed.
On the evening of Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7pm we will host an open portfolio walk as part of the 2015 festival. This event allows participating portfolio review photographers to share their work with the public as well as other reviewers who you may not meet with during the daily sessions. The evening marks a chance to share work with a wide audience, meet collectors, see portfolios from other photographers participating in the Eye to Eye Portfolio Reviews, and take part in a dynamic, community event in San Diego.
A list of confirmed reviewers for 2015 is posted now, with additional reviewers added in Spring 2015. We have more than 20 participating reviewers representing museums, galleries, and publishers from across the United States.
